Getting Cable connected to your home
First
you need to find a ISP and contact them asking if you can
connect to Cable in your area. Or you can use this site to
test it. http://www.telstraclear.co.nz/residential/inhome/internet/cable-broadband/network-coverage.cfm
If
Cable is available in your area the ISP will create a account
for you. They will contact telstraclear to send a technician
to install a connection in your house and check your connection to the local cabinet.
Next
you have the choice to purchase either a direct connection or using a router. A connection via a Router is best if you want to connect more
than one machine to the internet.
