Hi and welcome to my little nvida howto site.

UPDATE: i now use a Geforce 4200 Ti with the same system without problems. The TNT2 lives with the geforce2 GTS in a draw full of old parts.

I am a happy owner of a Creative Geforce2 GTS. After installing win XP i started getting a nv_disp.dll error causing the pc to crash or halt. After trying several different drivers from wth 21.* or 22.* series the same error appeared a few mins/hours after booting.

The error only happened in 2D applications. I was able to play 3D games for a few hours but left on a windows desktop the machine would die at random times. After testing the tempature of the heatsink at various times heat was not to blame.

The only solution was to go back to using a Diamond TNT2 Ultra. This has worked without any problems it is noticably slower but still usable. The Geforce2 is now in another machine under win98se without any problems.

UPDATE (25/12/2001) Seems via has owned up to a extent. Here i was blaming WinXP.
